A Solution to Low Temperature Applications

Ultraline Ltd have developed a system in their Rodless Cylinder range that enables the unit to be used in low temperature applications.

This cylinder was developed to provide a solution to a major problem its customer had with a door system, which could see extremes in temperature from as low as –40ºc to +40ºc. The specification called for the cylinder to operate without excessive leakage.

Ultraline have developed a solution, which incorporates the use of a heating element within the cyinder body. The element starts to heat as the temperature falls to below 5ºc. The lower the temperature the more heat is generated, ensuring that even though the ambient temperature is –40ºc the cylinder will always be at positive temperatures. The benefit being that the cylinder will operate in normal ambient conditions as well as low temperatures, saving downtime and expensive air due to high leak levels at minus temperatures.
